Ingredients

  • 6 fresh limes
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

Step 1.

  • Wash the limes well. Cut off both ends. Slice each lime into quarters.

Step 2.

  • Add half of the lime pieces to the blender with 1½ cups cold water.

Step 3.

  • Blend for 10–15 seconds only. Over-blending can turn the drink bitter.

Step 4.

  • Strain the mixture into a bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and peel bits.

Step 5.

  • Pour the strained lime juice back into the blender.

Step 6.

  • Add remaining water, sweetened condensed milk, and ice.

Step 7.

  • Blend again until smooth and frothy.

Step 8.

  • Taste and adjust with more condensed milk if you like it sweeter.

Step 9.

  • Serve right away for the best texture and flavor.

Tip from my kitchen: Short blending time keeps the lime peel from overpowering the drink.

    Notes

    1. Do not over-blend the limes.
    2. Use chilled ingredients for best taste.
    3. Adjust condensed milk to control sweetness.
    4. Straining keeps the drink smooth.
