Ingredients

  • ½ cup 112 g mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup 60 g ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Method

Add the Base:
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise and ketchup. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
Mix in the Flavor:
  1. Add the sweet pickle relish, sugar, white vinegar, and black pepper.
Stir Well:
  1. Mix everything together until the sauce looks smooth and creamy with small bits of relish evenly spread throughout.
Taste and Adjust:
  1. Taste the burger sauce. If you like it tangier, add a tiny splash of white vinegar. If you want it sweeter, add a pinch of sugar.
Chill Before Serving:
  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the flavors come together and taste better.
  2. I always make it a little ahead of time. The flavor deepens after resting in the fridge.

Notes

1. Let the sauce chill before serving for better flavor.
2. Adjust sugar and vinegar to suit your taste.
3. Use fresh black pepper for stronger flavor.
4. Double the batch if serving a crowd.
5. Stir before each use after storage.
