Step 1: Prep the Cucumbers
- Grate the cucumber using a box grater. Place it in a strainer or wrap in a clean towel and squeeze out as much liquid as you can. This step keeps your tzatziki sauce thick and creamy.
Step 2: Mix the Base
- In a mixing bowl, add Greek yogurt and sour cream. Stir until smooth.
Step 3: Add Flavor
- Mix in the grated cucumbers, salt, white balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, dill, and black pepper.
Step 4: Taste and Adjust
- Taste the tzatziki sauce recipe and adjust salt or lemon if needed. I like mine slightly lemony for gyros.
Step 5: Chill
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the flavors settle and makes it even better.
