Ingredients

For the Biscuits:

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • 113 g cold unsalted butter 1 stick, cubed
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cold buttermilk

For the Honey Butter:

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

Preheat and Prep

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it.

Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and sugar.

Cut in the Butter

  • Add the cold, cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or fork to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Don’t overmix!

Add Cheese and Buttermilk

  • Stir in the shredded cheddar. Then pour in the buttermilk and stir gently just until a dough forms. It’ll be slightly sticky—perfect.

Shape and Cut

  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Pat it into a ¾-inch thick rectangle. Fold it over once or twice (this helps with layers), then cut out your biscuits.

Bake

  • Place biscuits on the baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.

Make the Honey Butter

  • While the biscuits bake, melt the butter with honey and salt in a small saucepan or microwave. Stir until smooth.

Brush and Serve

  • As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush them generously with the honey butter. Serve warm!
